Stop and smell the roses on a self-guided stroll through three private gardens (including one with over 700 different hostas!), Cranbrook Gardens, and one nearby nonprofit organization this summer during the Cranbrook & Friends Garden Walk. New this year, a limited number of guests will also have the chance to tour City Bloom: Birmingham, an outdoor botanical photo exhibition, with artist Laurie Tennent!

Proceeds support the preservation of Cranbrook House & Gardens.

To help ensure the wellness of everyone participating in the Garden Walk, please:

Admission
General Admission: $12 in advance | $15 the day of the walk
Cranbrook House & Gardens Members: $10 in advance | $15 the day of walk

Registration
Save on admission by registering in advance online through the link at the end of this page. Presale ends Friday, June 25, 2021 at 12:00pm. Admission will only be available in person at Cranbrook House & Gardens the day of the Garden Walk.

Rain/Refund Policy
The Garden Walk will be held rain or shine. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and dressing for the weather. Registration is nonrefundable. 

Parking and Program Pickup
Please check in at our Gatehouse Welcome Center the day of the Garden Walk to receive your program with directions to the local gardens. To protect the privacy of the homeowners featured on the Garden Walk, programs will not be available in advance.

"City Bloom: Birmingham" Tour with Laurie Tennent

1:00pm - 1:30pm, 2:00pm - 2:30pm, 3:00pm - 3:30pm
 
Tour through Booth Park to view and enjoy Laurie Tennent's amazing botanical photos (including pieces featuring native plants from Cranbrook and two added to the exhibition for our Garden Walk!) tucked in along the trails. Along the way, Laurie will discuss her creative process.

Laurie Tennent is an American photographer known for her distinctive, dramatic botanical images. Her City Bloom installation along the Rouge River Trail is presented along with Robert Kidd Gallery and the City of Birmingham. 

The tour will last about 30 minutes and cover 2/3 of a mile along a wood chipped path. Registration is required in advance (your tour registration also includes access to the Garden Walk). Space is limited to ensure room for social distancing.
