Michigan Opera Theatre at Cranbrook House

Join us in celebrating 100 years of Leonard Bernstein, the centennial of the Cranbrook House Library, and Michigan Opera Theatre’s upcoming season of literary masterworks turned opera!

The concert will feature Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT) Studio Artists performing works from Bernstein’s Candide and West Side Story, along with pieces that highlight the MOT season, which includes Eugene Onegin, The Barber of Seville, Candide, Hansel and Gretel, and The Grapes of Wrath. For more information on MOT’s upcoming season, please visit michiganopera.org.

Doors open at 7:00pm. The program will begin at 7:30pm and last about 60 minutes. Following the performance, guests will be able to mingle with the artists while enjoying desserts and a cash bar (21+). 

Admission
General Public: $40 per person
Cranbrook House & Gardens Auxiliary Members: $35 per person

Cranbrook House is located at 380 Lone Pine Road, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 48304. Parking is available onsite and across the street at Christ Church Cranbrook. 

Please check-in at the Cranbrook House front door. Tickets will not be mailed for this event. We will have a list of registered guests. 

About Michigan Opera Theatre Studio
Michigan Opera Theatre Studio Artists represent some of the most exciting emerging talent in opera today. Coming to Detroit from all different areas of the country, from September to June these young opera professionals gain valuable experience through myriad performance opportunities in main stage and community productions. In March 2019, they will fill the leading roles in MOT’s production of Bernstein’s beloved operetta Candide. Throughout their residency, studio artists benefit from advanced individual training and guidance from MOT’s Director of Resident Artist Programs, American tenor, Richard Leech, and Principal Coach/Accompanist, Tessa Hartle, and hone their skills through master classes and instruction from an array of world class professionals, guest artists, and coaches.
